It sounded like the answer to my small lawn needs. The item was shipped in good time and was well packed. During the minor assembly required, I discovered one of the handle bar plastic securing nuts was broken and the handle bar assembly could not be tightened. I looked for a parts list to order a replacement since the mower still looked like a good deal. No parts list. I searched further. No warranty, no instructions, no nothing !!. Not even a shipping list. When I contacted Amazon for the broken part, I was told that they didn’t keep parts and I had to return the entire 80 pound boxed mower for credit, which I did at some inconvenience. In fairness, Amazon acted reponsibly and credited me promptly but Amazon should be more careful of their purchasing from 3rd World Junk Dealers like Black and Decker. Never again !

We Received This Mower Which Had Apparently Been Repackaged And Returned To Amazon And Was Missing Parts. We Contacted Black & Decker And They Sent, At No Charge, The Missing Parts. We Next Contacted Amazon. They Offered To Let Us Return The “Used Item” And Exchange It For A New, Sealed Box Unit. Since The Only Thing Missing Was Several Parts And It Was Otherwise New, I Told Them That Would Be A Waste Of Time And Money. In Lieu Of Returning The Unit, Amazon Refunded 20% Of The Purchase Price Which Was More Than Fair. Kudos To Amazon For Making Customer Satisfaction Primary. The Mower Works Great. It Runs For About An Hour With Average Length, Dry Grass. The Unit Is Much More Quiet Than Any Electric Mower I Have Used (Don’t Even Get Me Started On The Messy, Expensive Gas Mowers) And It Is So Nice Not To Be Dragging An Extension Cord Behind Me All The Time. Highly Recommend The Item

We bought our BD last Sept 2008. At first it was fantastic! Can’t say the same about it this yr. In less than 1yr, the “beast” barely had any power when it was charged for a full week! Thank goodness for the 2yr warranty. We returned it today and got a Lawnboy with an electrc start. Huge difference!

Fast exelent service; mower has more than adequet power; long charge cycle; is a little heavier than expected but still a very good choice
